Scatter diagram

This calculator constructs a scatter diagram (dot plot) that depicts the relashionship between two variables by putting each pair as point on the Cartesian plane. The values of variables are set as pairs of numbers separated by semicolons or tabs.

In a scatter diagram, each observation (a pair of variable values) corresponds to a point whose coordinates are equal to the values of the variables (parameters). If it is assumed that one variable may depend on another, the values of the independent variable are plotted on the horizontal x-axis and the values of the dependent variable on the vertical y-axis. In this way, one can visually assess whether there is a correlation between two variables.
