We've created a calculator that estimates the liquid level of a known volume in a cylindrical tank. Comments were taken into account, and the task has been complicated - we added tank tilt angle. For a horizontally lying tank, set the angle to zero.

Liquid level in the tilted cylinder

Digits after the decimal point: 2
Liquid level

Distance between liquid level measurement place and nearest base. (0 if level is measured right near the base).

The calculator uses this Tilted cylindrical tank volume calculation algorithm; the liquid level is detected iteratively using the bisection method.
