Humidity in cellar, bath, etc.
Hi Timur:
Here is an idea which would even make a good app for android od iphone.
I bought a device supposed to give me instructions on when to open the window but its algotihm is not correct. I can sent you some pictures of its display.
It gives me for inside and outside: temp + rel humidity, and shows a sign when I am supposed to open the window.
As the sign did not show when I felt it should I used a Mollier Diagram to decide myself on the difference of absolute humidities, neglecting baomatric pressure and sea level differences. Also, it did not consider how long I should open which certainly if important when the temperature difference is imporrtant as for example in very hot or cold climate.
There also is an app which has a wrong algorithm but a good idea: it is based on the humidity level provided by a weather server. Its alofithm seems to be: if dew point outside is lower than dew point iside you should open the window.
My intuitive conviction (which gave could results) is that: If abs hum outside is lower than inside I can open the window.
This leads me to my propoal of a new calculator which basically is two of your 2162 calculators side by side, the result being: "open thhe window" of "don't open the window".
This would be it!
Additional enhancements could be numerous, as for example:
- indication of potential mildew, and a indicator ot the its degree of the exposure
- humidity level vs. confort zone (provided by the device I bought)
- correction of situation vs. sea level
- correction ot the current atmospheric pressure
- using rel hum from a weather server
Please let me know what you think about this.
Thanks & Regards,
Hans Daniel
