Question

Answer

Percentage of the sum or the difference helps to determine salary taxes and VAT:

PLANETCALC, Percentage of sum or difference

Percentage of sum or difference

Digits after the decimal point: 2
C. What is B% of A (C = A%B)

D. Percentage of sum D = (A+D)%B

E. Percentage of difference E = (A-E)%B

First of all, the calculator calculates the percentage of a given number. i.e., a given number A is taken as 100%; as a result, we have a number C that is B percent of A.

Furthermore, the problem is getting complicated. Assume we have a number A, which is the remainder of subtracting B percent of some original value, which is 100%. For example, you may determine your taxes amount by net salary and tax rate.

The final problem is formulated as follows: here is some number A, consisting of the initial number and the percentage of B added to that number. It’s required to determine the percentage amount E. A similar problem is solved by every accountant when they calculate input VAT of the gross purchase amount.
