The RGB-HSV Color Converter allows the user to convert RGB color values to HSV color values and vice versa.

For RGB to HSV conversion, the user enters the RGB values (in the range of 0-255) for red, green, and blue. The calculator then converts these values to the corresponding HSV values (hue, saturation, and value), where hue is represented as an angle in degrees and saturation and value are represented as percentages.

Similarly, for HSV to RGB conversion, the user enters the HSV values (hue in degrees, saturation and value as percentages), and the calculator converts these values to the corresponding RGB values.

RGB

RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue, and it's a color model used in digital displays and graphics to represent colors by combining these three primary colors. In this model, each color is represented by a value from 0 to 255, and the combination of these three values produces a unique color.

RGB color model can be represented as a cube, where each corner represents one of the primary colors (red, green, and blue) and the interior points represent a combination of these colors. The intensity of each primary color can range from 0 to 255, resulting in a total of 16.7 million possible colors.

HSV

HSV stands for Hue, Saturation, Value, and it's another color model used in graphics and image processing. In this model, colors are defined by their hue, which represents the actual color; saturation, which represents the purity or intensity of the color; and value, which represents the brightness of the color.

HSV color model can be represented as a cylinder, where the bottom of the cylinder represents black and the top represents white. The hue (or color) is represented as an angle around the cylinder (ranging from 0 to 360 degrees), the saturation is represented as the distance from the center of the cylinder (ranging from 0 to 1), and the value (or brightness) is represented as the height of the cylinder (ranging from 0 to 1). This representation makes it easy to adjust the brightness or saturation of a color while keeping its hue constant. Unlike RGB, HSV separates color information from brightness information, making it easier to manipulate colors.
